Description
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager works closely with the Executive Housekeeper to lead and coordinate Housekeeping and Public Space operations throughout the resort. This position plays a key role in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction while supporting the development and success of the housekeeping team.
The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who takes pride in delivering a consistently high-quality guest experience and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
Essential job functions include:
- Supervise Housekeeping and Public Space operations to ensure the hotel is consistently clean, safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready.
- Ensure adherence to The Boar’s Head Resort policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for linens, cleaning supplies, guest supplies, laundry supplies, uniforms, machinery, and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and payroll controls while establishing and monitoring productivity standards.
- Supervise rotational and special cleaning programs.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established standards; perform follow-up inspections as needed.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Front Desk and Engineering departments to support a smooth and efficient resort operation.
- Ensure the department operates within the approved budget and established financial guidelines.
- Conduct department meetings to maintain positive working relationships, encourage teamwork, and promote employee morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Follow up daily with the Engineering Department regarding maintenance issues and ensure timely completion of guest room and public space repairs.
- Complete all responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner while following established company policies and projecting a professional image of The Boar’s Head Resort.
- Keep the Executive Housekeeper promptly and fully informed of significant problems, unusual circumstances, or operational concerns so appropriate corrective action can be taken.
- Perform supervisory functions necessary to effectively and efficiently manage assigned personnel.
- Maintain a qualified and effective staff by establishing clear expectations, managing working relationships, holding employees accountable, and evaluating performance.
- Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, and dismissals as appropriate.
- Ensure proper training and onboarding of assigned personnel.
- Foster a cooperative, respectful, and harmonious work environment that supports employee morale and productivity.
- Identify and develop employees for future advancement opportunities.
- Maintain staffing guides and accurately monitor and track open job requisitions.
- Contribute to the overall success of the resort by performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, hospitality, hotel operations, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating employees.
- Knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and public-space operations.
- Ability to conduct inspections and maintain high cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
- Experience with staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and cost control preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with Front Desk, Engineering, and other resort departments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
Salary Description
$57,000 annually
