Your role at Baxter
As an EHS&S Specialist , you will help drive environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs for a large-scale medical manufacturing facility. You'll partner closely with operations, engineering, and facilities teams to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and support a strong safety culture.
This is where your expertise in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement helps create a safer workplace while supporting the production of life-saving products.
Success in this role is measured by maintaining regulatory compliance, reducing workplace risks, supporting incident prevention, and driving meaningful EHS improvements across the site.

What you'll be doing
- Support environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, PPE evaluations, and safety inspections.
- Identify hazards through Gemba walks and audits and drive corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and employee safety training.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and facilities teams to implement safety improvements.
- Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities.
- Assist with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance, audits, and documentation.
- Support industrial hygiene programs, including chemical safety, hearing conservation, and environmental monitoring.
- Track regulatory requirements and help ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, RCRA, and EHS regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety compliance activities.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience supporting ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience with industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, and chemical safety programs.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Professional EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, CHMM) preferred.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
