This position requires a professional who is aware of strategies for improving learning, understands curriculum developments, and is creative in finding solutions to enhance student performance.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic teacher of science. You will join a friendly and highly supportive department that has made huge strides, whereby students in AQA Combined Science and Separate Sciences continue to show year on year improvement.

Foremost we are looking to appoint an energetic Teacher of Science with good subject knowledge, a passion for Science, and want the students to love Science as much as we do. As a member of the Outwood Family you will share our vision of “Students First”.

Outwood Academy Freeston is a thriving school at the heart of the community. We now seek to appoint a teacher of science to join our 9 brilliant teachers. The department benefits from 8 science labs, a specialist science technician as well as the in-house support from the trust’s Director of Science.

Essential qualifications include a degree in an appropriate discipline related to the relevant subject and a teaching qualification coupled with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Required experience includes recent and relevant teaching experience (either in employment or training) and experience of assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will be confident in using standard computer packages (word processing, email, and spreadsheets) and understand how these tools can enhance student learning. The role demands high levels of professionalism, including the ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner, and a capacity to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
