Position Overview : We are searching for a CNC Machine Programmer to join our team. The CNC Programmer will be instrumental in offline programming and supplying programs and documents for our CNC operators to produce precision parts and components. We require a candidate with knowledge and experience in CNC machinery and CAD/CAM software. The CNC Programmer plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate production of high-precision components and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Gibbs Cam software to create CNC programs based on customer blueprints and models.
- Effectively communicate with coworkers and various departments within the company, verbally and in writing.
- Possess excellent blueprint reading skills to guide the manufacturing process accurately.
- Exhibit a steadfast commitment to quality in all aspects of CNC programming and machining.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to complete programming tasks efficiently.
- Responsible for transmitting files and transcribing clear notes to CNC operators machines and third-party vendors for cutting and fabrication.
- Be well-versed in safety standards and ensure compliance in a shop environment.
- Utilize CAM software to craft CNC programs for multi-axis mills, and multi-axis mills with pallet changing capabilities.
- Work within all aspects of CNC programming and tooling requirements for production operations
- Implement machining techniques, including surface milling, and radial depth of cut requirements based on machine capabilities and specific tooling choices.
Qualifications
- Desired qualifications include an associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or 5+ years of hands-on experience.
- Preferred experience of 5 years in CNC operations or CNC programming.
- Knowledge or previous experience with 5 axis equipment operation or programming.
- Proficiency in GD&T with the ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, parts lists, and assembly drawings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of machining theory, work practices, and shop mathematics.
- Strong technical, communication, computer, problem-solving, attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Able to work through feedback and constructive thoughts on how to improve programs at the machines with operators.
- Proficiency in using CAM systems to analyze components, set-ups, tooling, and fixturing and produce efficient, accurate toolpaths for CNC machine tools.
- Capability to use CAD systems for manipulating models and to determine fixturing, tooling, and machine tool components.
- Proficiency in CAM programming, preferably with SolidWorks/Gibbs cam but willing to train.
- Experience with Mastercam a plus
