About This Role
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst, Investor Relations to support the continued growth and execution of the Company’s Investor Relations function. This role will contribute to a broad range of investor relations activities, including business and market analysis, investor communications, engagement with the investment community, and day-to-day program execution.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Investor Relations, the Analyst/Senior Analyst, Investor Relations will have meaningful exposure to Axsome’s business strategy, senior leadership, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, highly organized, and detail oriented, with strong communication skills and sound judgment. This individual will help analyze and synthesize sophisticated financial and technical information to support IR messaging, strategy, and decision-making. They should be intellectually curious, comfortable taking ownership of workstreams, and eager to develop a deeper understanding of the business, investor perspectives, and the broader industry.
This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain and enhance consensus analyses and monitor analyst research, estimates, and investor sentiment to identify changes in expectations and areas of investor and analyst focus
- Conduct shareholder, competitive, and market analyses to inform IR strategy and messaging
- Draft and support development of earnings presentations, investor materials, management and Board materials, and other IR communications
- Support investor and analyst engagement through research, briefing materials, meeting and conference coordination, and follow-up
- Maintain the IR calendar and investor relationship management system and coordinate key IR projects, timelines, scheduling, and logistics
- Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Clinical, Legal, Corporate Communications, and other internal stakeholders
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve and automate IR processes, analyses, and materials and take initiative to help implement them
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or life sciences related field required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, finance, investing, or a related field; healthcare experience is a plus
- Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Strong analytical and financial aptitude, with an interest in business and capital markets
- Ability to analyze financial models and valuation frameworks, including evaluating modeling assumptions and identifying key value drivers, and to synthesize and communicate actionable insights to executive leadership that inform IR strategy and messaging
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and project management skills, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on deliverables and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise messages
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, along with good visual judgment
- Proactive and resourceful, with an ability to anticipate needs, navigate ambiguity, and move work forward independently
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment, including knowing when to act independently and when to seek input or escalate
- Receptive to feedback, eager to learn, and motivated to continually stretch beyond their current capabilities
Salary and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
