Job Title: Staff Accountant Job Description
The Staff Accountant will manage and organize financial documentation and processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and recordkeeping. This role involves handling a large volume of transactions and requires strong attention to detail and financial acumen.
Responsibilities
- Compile and organize supporting documentation for approximately 40 corporate credit cards, representing roughly 2,000 transactions per month, and coordinate with cardholders to obtain all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Review and code corporate credit card transactions to the appropriate legal entity, cost center, and general ledger account to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Deposit checks received and maintain complete and accurate records of all deposits, many of which are reimbursements for personal expenses charged to a firm credit card.
- Log and track checks received in the company's internal cash management application to support accurate cash reporting and recordkeeping.
- Track, maintain, and reconcile private equity fund receivables, and coordinate with the Fund Administration team to facilitate timely reimbursements.
- Assist with recording cash transactions and maintaining accounts receivable reconciliations.
- Prepare lower risk journal entries.
Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in general accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Ability to handle high transaction volumes
- Understanding of journal entries and accounting principles
Work Environment
This position is onsite, requiring the Staff Accountant to work from the office location. The role involves handling financial transactions and maintaining records in a professional office setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
