Job Purpose:
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects across design, engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases. The role will work under the guidance of senior engineers and support mechanical equipment engineering in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, HSE requirements, and ADNOC/client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering activities for static and rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and packaged equipment.
- Assist in preparation and review of equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, and engineering calculations.
- Support technical evaluation of mechanical equipment and vendor proposals under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Review vendor drawings, datasheets, calculations, and other technical documents and follow up on comments.
- Assist in reviewing P&IDs, equipment layouts, mechanical drawings, and equipment interfaces.
- Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, Procurement, Construction, and other disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, and technical coordination meetings.
- Support resolution of mechanical technical queries during engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
- Assist in monitoring equipment manufacturing, inspection, testing, delivery, installation, and preservation requirements.
- Participate in site inspections, equipment installation checks, alignment activities, system walkdowns, and mechanical completion.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist in preparation of technical reports, engineering registers, equipment lists, action trackers, and project documentation.
- Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable API, ASME, ADNOC/client specifications, QA/QC requirements, and HSE standards.
- Participate in technical training, mentoring, and competency-development programs as part of the UAE National development program.
Qualification & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of three (3+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum two (2) years in GCC region. from a Word Document
