FOOD SERVICE CUSTODIAN

PART TIME (5 HOURS DAILY)

THIS IS AN AT WILL POSITION

REPORTS TO CAFETERIA MANAGER

Summary of position:

Provide friendly, responsive service in a clean and safe environment that all our customers and coworkers enjoy

Essential Functions:

- Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, standards, specifications guidelines, directives, assignments, and training programs

- Keep a clean and safe work area including equipment

- Set up tables prior to meal service, clean, sanitizers tables, sweep and mop floor, and empty trash

- Promptly mop up spill, and clean messes

- Make deliveries in a timely fashion and immediately contact supervisor with any problems.

- Serve meals for students, staff, and parents, when required.

- Be ready and willing to assist fellow workers as situations arise

- Help put away deliveries in a safe manner, rotating stock using FIFO, and properly dating products.

- Sweep and mop floors as needed

- Spray, wipe down and move tables in eating areas as needed.

- Clean and sanitize all athletic bags and refrigerators as needed.

- Remove trash from kitchen and inside and outside eating areas daily

- Transport trash to dumpsters.

- Clean and sanitize all trash cans and put them away daily

- Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Successful completion of all interviews, background check, drug testing and fingerprint requirements.

- Submission of all employee related documents, and forms free of false, misleading and/or incomplete information

- Sensitivity and respect for people of various backgrounds, cultures, experiences and socio-economic situations

- Have basic cleaning and cooking skills

- Be able to work in a standing position for up to 4 hours a day.

- Hair must be styled in a way that it is restrained, and fingernails must be short and trimmed, nail polish and artificial nails are not allowed while working

- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift 50 pounds and up

- Know basic math skills

- Must always wear skid proof shoes in kitchen.

- Must have food handler’s card
