Reactor Operator Trainee
Troy, MI / On-Site
Monday- Friday 7:00a- 3:30p
The Reactor Operator Trainee supports the safe and efficient production of specialty chemical products by learning reactor operations, manufacturing processes, and quality standards. This role works closely with experienced operators to monitor equipment, follow operating procedures, and maintain a safe work environment. The position offers hands-on training and development opportunities within a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Complete assigned reactor operator training programs.
- Operate production equipment following documented procedures.
- Monitor process parameters and report deviations.
- Collect and record production and quality data accurately.
- Perform material handling and product transfers safely.
- Conduct equipment inspections and basic housekeeping tasks.
- Follow safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work rotating shifts as required.
- Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements
- Postsecondary coursework in manufacturing, chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or chemical processing environment.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other industrial equipment.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification after hire.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $20.00- $21.00/hr.
