About this role
Under the supervision of a Director of Resident Services, the Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and/or identifying programming to meet those needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing linkages to needed services for low-income residents living in MiSide affordable housing developments. The Resident Service Coordinator will participate in existing focus groups, programs, and committees as well as implement new programs for the advancement of tenant quality of life and community improvements opportunities. Additional responsibilities will include the management of the skill building programs and the oversight of life skills educators when applicable with tenants of the MiSide Housing portfolio of properties. The ability to effectively coordinate services for residents directly impacts the organizations mission statement in that it allows residents to maintain their housing for longer periods of time, enhances their quality of life and provides for greater instances of safe, affordable housing for the populations we serve.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
- Two years of work experience in social work, community services, or other case management role
- Knowledge of Southwest Detroit and local services providers is highly preferred
- Possession of a valid drivers license and access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance
