About this role

The Director, Learning & Strategic Capability Building identifies the capabilities KION needs for the future and turns them into skills applied across the business. The role translates business strategy into a multi-year capability roadmap, skills architecture and targeted learning investments.

Driving the full capability-building lifecycle, the position will use internal and external insights to design, build, deliver (both directly and through learning partners), and measure engaging, multi-modal learning sequences that will embed the building of future skills into everyday work and talent practices.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $141,000 - $206,800 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

- Translate KION's strategy into a capability roadmap, defining the skills to build, sustain or retire.

- Shape the enterprise skills taxonomy and capability frameworks that provide a common language across operating units, regions and functions.

- Use workforce data and external market and technology signals to forecast future skills, identify gaps and recommend prioritised investments.

- Define learning pathways and lead priority programs from concept through design, build, launch, facilitation and ongoing delivery.

- Create practical, creative and accessible solutions across facilitated, digital, social, experiential, on-the-job and blended modalities.

- Embed skills through manager enablement, practice, performance support, communities of practice and integration with talent and operating rhythms.

- Own enterprise reskilling for AI and digital ways of working, from baseline fluency to role-specific capability and application.

- Partner with IT, Learning Partners and operating units to align learning with technology, business processes and local delivery.

- Measure proficiency, application, behaviour change and business outcomes, using insight to improve programs and focus investments.

- Lead and develop a specialist team across skills intelligence, learning architecture and digital capability.

- Partner with senior stakeholders across operating units to align capability priorities and decisions.

- Role model the KION Winning Behaviors, in particular Embrace Curiosity and Lead with Innovation.

What we are looking for:

- Significant learning, capability building or organisational development experience in a complex multinational organisation, spanning strategy, design, build and delivery.

- Track record of translating strategy into enterprise capability frameworks, learning portfolios and sustained business adoption.

- Experience leading enterprise reskilling and creating engaging learning across facilitated, digital, blended and workplace-based modalities.

- Strong command of workforce data, learning analytics and evidence-based investment cases.

- Experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed, multi-country environment.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Business-level English and willingness to travel internationally.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, logistics or supply-chain environments.

- Familiarity with skills-based organisation models, talent practices and learning technology, including LXP, skills platforms and AI-enabled learning.

- Experience working across EMEA, APAC and North American business contexts.

- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in organisational psychology, human resources, learning and development, or workforce analytics.
