Position Summary
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting, location audits, inventory verification, and discrepancy research. This role supports warehouse operations by ensuring inventory is stored correctly, accurately counted, and reported according to company and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and support inventory projects.
- Research inventory discrepancies and identify potential root causes.
- Verify inventory quantities and location accuracy.
- Investigate inventory stored in incorrect locations and support corrective actions.
- Monitor and report inventory exceptions, including negative inventory, overages, shortages, and damaged product.
- Perform location audits to ensure inventory is properly stored and identified.
- Support annual physical inventories and customer audits.
- Follow inventory control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate count documentation and audit records.
- Communicate inventory findings to Inventory Control leadership and Operations.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Warehouse or inventory experience preferred.
- Experience using RF scanners and basic warehouse systems.
- Basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to investigate and document inventory discrepancies.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb when conducting inventory audits.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
