Who Are You?

- You are an experienced infrastructure cost and commercial professional specialising in construction cost estimating and quantity surveying within a consulting or contracting environment. With 8-10+ years of postgraduate experience, you have developed a reputation for delivering high-quality cost estimates on major capital infrastructure projects and are comfortable operating as a consultant and trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.

- You have established experience as a Senior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy, professional services, or contracting environment, where you have led or significantly contributed to independent cost planning, cost estimating, cost assurance activities across complex multibillion infrastructure programs.

- You have actively participated in challenging target cost submissions and produced cost plans as part of client business case submissions.

- You understand that successful project outcomes require more than accurate estimates; they require strategic thinking, commercial insight, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to influence decision-making.

- You thrive in client-facing environments and are confident presenting both technical and commercial aspects of estimating and associated advice to senior project leaders, executives, and public sector stakeholders.

- You enjoy working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, challenging assumptions, providing independent insight, and helping clients make informed investment decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

- The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with strong consulting, communication, and relationship management skills. You are self-motivated, commercially astute, and capable of independently leading assignments while contributing to broader team objectives and business growth initiatives.

- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing both strategic and detailed independent cost planning advice and risk-related recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.

- Lead or contribute to client-facing engagements, progressive estimate assurance and validation assignments and risk quantification workshops.

- Independently challenge contractor’s submissions during target cost development, procurement, and business case processes.

- Mentor and develop junior consultants, estimators, and quantity surveyors through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

- This role offers the opportunity to work for a global consultancy across cost and commercial aspects of some of the region's most significant infrastructure programs.

- You will contribute to the continued development of estimating methodologies, assurance frameworks, benchmarking systems, and best-practice cost planning and cost estimating.

Qualifications

- Minimum 8-10 years' professional experience in cost estimating/QS, including substantial experience within a consultancy, professional services, advisory, or client-side infrastructure environment. 
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to cost estimating, cost planning, cost assurance, commercial advisory, and investment decision support services for major infrastructure programs. 
- Proven ability to engage effectively with client stakeholders and communicate complex technical or commercial aspects of construction cost estimating clearly and confidently. 
- Experience supporting collaborative delivery models including Progressive Design-Build (PDB), CMAR, CMGC, Alliance, Design-Build, and other alternative procurement approaches. 
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project controls, risk management, governance, procurement, and infrastructure delivery frameworks. 
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior professionals and contributing positively to team capability development. 
- Professional accreditation such as CIQS, MRICS, FRICS, CCP (AACE), CEP, PMP, or equivalent is highly regarded.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $125,000 - $150,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
