Actively Interviewing for Biomedical Engineering Technician to support top medical laboratory in Norcross, GA! Description The Biomedical Equipment Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of biomedical and laboratory equipment. The position receives on-the-job training from sr technicians as well as specialized training from external vendors and manufacturers. The incumbent is expected to maintain effective working relationships and communication with internal customers, external service providers, and team members while supporting safe and reliable equipment operation. Essential Tasks

- Competently perform all assigned departmental duties.
- May include specialized support in the Biomed area that includes: Attend advanced vendor training to assist in daily operations.
- Evaluate reports in an accurate and timely manner; recognize and resolve unusual problems.
- Operate equipment utilizing established protocols and within quality control limits.
- Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, and records as needed.
- Perform computer data entry.

- Participate in continuing education and attend meetings as required.
- Work closely with the laboratory services and laboratory support staff.
- Work under close supervision of management and will assist other Biomed Technicians in performing Biomedical departmental duties.
- Work closely with the laboratory staff.
- Respect for co workers and management staff.
- Positive work attitude.
- Performs skilled work on preventive maintenance, repair, safety testing, and recording functional test data.
- Perform computer data entry.
- Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Learn how to troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Excellent customer service [for both internal and external customers].
- Attend trainings to provide on site service of equipment.
- Assure timely troubleshooting and resolution associated with equipment repair.
- Assist in routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in correspondence, reports, and records as needed.
- Adherence to all safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Education:

- Requires an Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related field preferred.
- A master's degree in a related discipline is highly desirable.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

- BMET Certification a plus

Required Minimum Experience

- Requires one year experience as a Biomedical Engineering Tech/technician (BMET).
- Requires parts inventory management experience.
- Requires experience supporting equipment and operations in a regulated pharmaceutical, biologics, medical device, clinical diagnostics, or medical technology setting, with an understanding of applicable quality and compliance requirements.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Norcross, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53040.00 - $60320.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
