The Opportunity:
We have an immediate opening for regular full-time Archaeological Crew Leads to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Leading archaeological field crews under the supervision of a field director.
- Accurately and efficiently record cultural resources in the field.
- Operate Trimble GPS units using Field Maps data collection software.
- Contributing to technical survey reports and site forms.
- Providing direction to field technicians during fieldwork.
- Use digital data collection methods. Proficiency with electronic devices such as smart phones and tablets for digital data collection (iOS operating system experience a plus).
- Evaluate sites for National Register of Historic Places eligibility under the supervision of a field director.
- Conduct quality control/quality assurance reviews of field data.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Anthropology or closely related field or equivalent experience.
- Must meet permitting qualifications at the crew lead level on federal permits in Utah and/or Nevada.
- 2+ years of archaeology consulting or agency experience.
- 1+ years of archaeology experience in the Great Basin or Southwest, including experience leading field survey crews under supervision of a field director.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
- Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work out of town field sessions up to 8 days in a row.
- Be able to work cooperatively in a team-oriented setting with crew members and supervisors.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in the SLC office 3 days per week on average, as applicable.
What We Offer:
- Compensation – This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $52,000 to $60,320 annually, depending on experience and education.
Per diem, which is $68 per day for hotel-based projects and $120 per day for camping-based projects, will be provided for all non-local fieldwork.
