Role Summary
Crowe is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to lead complex ERP implementation and finance transformation engagements.
This role is designed for an experienced D365 Finance & Operations professional who can combine deep functional expertise with strong project and client leadership. You will guide clients through the full implementation lifecycle, from business process assessment and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.
The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of D365 Finance and experience leading finance-related workstreams. Expertise in Project Management & Accounting and/or Asset Leasing and Lease Accounting is highly preferred but not required to succeed in the role.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, controllers, finance leaders, business process owners, and IT stakeholders while leading cross-functional implementation teams and ensuring that D365 solutions deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Leadership
- Lead end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations and transformation programs.
- Own or oversee functional workstreams across requirements, process design, configuration, testing, data migration, integrations, deployment, and stabilization.
- Conduct business process assessments, fit-gap analyses, solution reviews, and design workshops.
- Translate business, finance, and accounting requirements into scalable D365 Finance & Operations solutions.
- Develop and review functional designs, solution blueprints, configuration documentation, test strategies, and training materials.
- Ensure solutions align with D365 product capabilities, implementation methodology, security requirements, reporting needs, and client objectives.
Finance Functional Expertise
Provide subject matter expertise across D365 Finance capabilities, including:
- General ledger and financial dimensions
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Cash and bank management
- Fixed assets
- Budgeting and financial reporting
- Intercompany accounting
- Expense management
- Revenue recognition and related financial processes
- Advise clients on finance operating models, process improvements, internal controls, and ERP-enabled transformation.
- Ensure that proposed solutions support accurate accounting, effective controls, auditability, and management reporting.
- Partner with technical architects and integration teams to ensure finance requirements are properly represented in the overall solution architecture.
Engagement and Project Leadership
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, resources, and deliverable quality.
- Lead cross-functional teams that may include functional consultants, technical architects, developers, data migration specialists, integration leads, testers, and change management professionals.
- Establish governance routines, status reporting, issue escalation, decision management, and quality controls.
- Coach and develop consultants and contribute to consistent delivery practices across engagements.
- Support proposal development, estimates, statements of work, solution demonstrations, and client presentations.
Client Advisory and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a senior client-facing advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops with finance executives, accounting SMEs, operational leaders, IT teams, and business process owners.
- Communicate complex functional, accounting, and technical concepts clearly to both executive and working-team audiences.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, solution optimization, and future-state capability development.
- Build trusted relationships that support successful delivery and long-term client partnerships.
Testing, Deployment, and Adoption
- Oversee conference room pilots, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and business readiness.
- Lead or support data validation, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and go-live execution.
- Coordinate training, documentation, change management, and knowledge transfer.
- Provide leadership during post-go-live stabilization and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in ERP implementation, finance transformation, consulting, or related client-service environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations.
- Demonstrated expertise in D365 Finance functional processes and solution delivery.
- Experience leading implementation workstreams, project teams, or complex client engagements.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes and their translation into ERP functionality.
- Experience with requirements gathering, process design, configuration oversight, testing, data migration, integrations, training, and go-live support.
- Strong project management, communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel based on client and engagement needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Project Management & Accounting .
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Asset Leasing or other lease accounting and lease administration solutions.
- Knowledge of ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87, or related lease accounting standards.
- Experience with D365 Finance fixed assets, budgeting, revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, or advanced financial dimensions.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance certification or related Microsoft certification.
- CPA, CA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience in consulting, public accounting, or a Big Four environment.
- Experience leading large, global, or multi-workstream D365 programs.
- Experience with presales, proposal development, solution demonstrations, estimates, and statements of work.
- Experience in professional services, construction, real estate, government, healthcare, manufacturing, or other project- or asset-intensive industries.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $103,200.00 - $210,900.00 per year.
