Job Title: Engineering Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to join our management team. The ideal candidate will lead and mentor a team of Design Engineers, Office Engineers, and Programmers/Machinists, while driving continuous improvement and ensuring the department meets its objectives efficiently and within budget. Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the management team to guide the company's direction.
- Manage and mentor a team of 6, acting as both a leader and support resource.
- Oversee department operations, ensuring organization, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Assume full responsibility for all engineering projects, personnel, and the creation of engineering procedures.
- Ensure the department achieves objectives and completes projects within budget and time frame.
- Focus product development on meeting and exceeding customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement projects and tooling initiatives.
- Ensure all digital data is correctly created, stored, and entered into the ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and maintain robust processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing from start to finish.
- Plan and manage current projects while preparing for future pipeline requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth within the department.
- Formulate long-term objectives and performance standards for the engineering department.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in a management role.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to develop talent and build a department.
- Ability to deliver on projects from start to finish and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, machining, CNC, programming, and continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial preferred).
- 5+ years total engineering experience, with 3+ years in a management role.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machining operations.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of delivery timelines and pipeline planning.
- Innovative thinking and product roadmap contribution.
- Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various CAD products.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $76.92/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
