About this role

Hobbs Madison is a leading consulting firm focused on bridging the gap between business strategy and technology execution. We combine deep technical and management expertise to solve complex challenges, improve capabilities, and drive competitive growth. Our clients include some of the largest banking, insurance and investment firms in the U.S.

We are looking for a Data Analyst with strong data management experience in the financial services industry. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex enterprise data initiatives for large financial institutions, with an initial focus on Customer and Party Master Data Management (MDM).

You will partner closely with our clients’ business and technical teams to define how enterprise data is ingested, cleansed, governed, mastered, and distributed across the organization. You will analyze existing data environments, map data flows and lineage, define data quality requirements, and help develop MDM frameworks and implementation roadmaps. The ideal candidate brings hands-on data analysis experience within banking or financial services and is comfortable working across business, data, and technology teams.

This is a Remote, Full-Time position with the possibility of some travel.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with client business and technical teams to define Customer and Party MDM scope, prioritized use cases, success criteria, and KPIs.
- Analyze and document current-state data environments and develop future-state data requirements.
- Create detailed data flow maps, source-to-user inventories, and data lineage documentation across systems and business functions.
- Develop data definition documentation including business definitions, data conventions, metadata, lineage, and issue taxonomies.
- Analyze source data and define requirements for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and automated quality checks.
- Develop data quality rules, control frameworks, monitoring requirements, remediation workflows, and auditability standards.
- Define entity resolution requirements, matching rules, survivorship concepts, and test scenarios used to establish trusted master records.
- Support the design of enterprise data governance models, stewardship responsibilities, and issue management workflows.
- Partner with technical teams to develop MDM architecture blueprints, including data mastering and distribution requirements.
- Assist in developing MDM implementation roadmaps, priorities, dependencies, and mobilization plans.
- Facilitate data analysis and requirements sessions with business stakeholders, data owners, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
- Prepare clear data mappings, analysis, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to client teams and leadership.
About You
- You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Management Analyst, MDM Analyst, or similar role.
- You have experience working directly within financial services or consulting for banking and financial services clients.
- You have a strong understanding of Master Data Management, preferably Customer or Party MDM.
- You have hands-on experience with data definitions, metadata, data lineage, data mapping, and data quality analysis.
- You understand data ingestion, transformation, validation, and automated data quality processes.
- You have experience defining data quality rules, controls, monitoring, and remediation processes.
- You understand entity resolution, matching, survivorship, and master record concepts.
- You are familiar with data governance frameworks and data stewardship workflows.
- Experience using AI-based techniques for data quality, entity resolution, record matching, or data disambiguation is highly preferred.
- You communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders and are comfortable leading client interviews and collaborative working sessions.
- You are a strong team player who works effectively with mixed teams of client stakeholders, consultants, and subject matter experts.
- You have a track record of working successfully in a remote environment and managing your responsibilities with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Experience with Jira and SharePoint is preferred.
- You have strong Excel skills and are comfortable analyzing large and complex data sets.
- You have strong PowerPoint, Word, and Visio skills and are comfortable creating detailed data flow diagrams and client documentation.
