About this role

Hobbs Madison is a leading consulting firm focused on bridging the gap between business strategy and technology execution. We combine deep technical and management expertise to solve complex challenges, improve capabilities, and drive competitive growth. Our clients include some of the largest banking, insurance and investment firms in the U.S.

We are looking for a Business Analyst with strong data management experience in the financial services industry. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex enterprise data initiatives for large financial institutions, with an initial focus on Customer and Party Master Data Management (MDM).

You will partner closely with our clients’ business and technical teams to identify business use cases and develop the functional blueprint for how customer data is governed, mastered, and distributed across the organization. You will translate business needs into functional requirements, document current and future-state processes, and help define data governance, quality, and stewardship models that support enterprise MDM initiatives.

This is a Remote, Full-Time position with the possibility of some travel.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with client stakeholders to identify and document prioritized Customer and Party MDM business use cases, business benefits, success criteria, and KPIs.
- Lead interviews and working sessions with business users, subject matter experts, data owners, and technical teams to gather and translate business needs into functional requirements.
- Analyze current-state business processes and data environments to define future-state requirements for customer master data.
- Develop functional MDM blueprints outlining how customer data will be governed, mastered, maintained, and distributed across the enterprise.
- Create current-state and future-state data flow maps and source-to-user inventories to document how customer data moves across business functions and systems.
- Define business requirements for data quality, including quality rules, controls, monitoring, remediation workflows, and auditability.
- Document business requirements for entity resolution, matching, survivorship, and related processes used to establish trusted customer records.
- Help define target-state data governance models, including data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, decision rights, and issue management workflows.
- Support the development of MDM implementation roadmaps, priorities, dependencies, and mobilization plans.
- Prepare business requirements, process flows, functional documentation, presentations, and recommendations for client teams and leadership.
About You
- You have 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, preferably supporting data management, MDM, data governance, or enterprise data initiatives.
- You have experience working directly within financial services or consulting for banking and financial services clients.
- You have strong experience interviewing business stakeholders, identifying business needs, and translating those needs into clear functional requirements and use cases.
- You understand Master Data Management concepts, preferably Customer or Party MDM, and how master data supports business processes across an organization.
- You have experience with current-state and future-state analysis, business process mapping, data flow mapping, and requirements documentation.
- You understand data governance, data stewardship, metadata, lineage, and audit trail concepts.
- You are familiar with data quality frameworks, remediation workflows, entity resolution, matching, and survivorship concepts.
- Experience with AI-based approaches to data quality, entity resolution, record matching, or data disambiguation is highly preferred.
- You communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders and are comfortable facilitating client interviews and collaborative working sessions.
- You have a track record of working successfully in a remote consulting environment and managing multiple priorities with limited day-to-day supervision.
- You work effectively within mixed teams of client stakeholders, consultants, technical specialists, and subject matter experts.
- You have strong PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio skills and are comfortable developing client-ready documentation and process flows.
- Experience with Jira and SharePoint is preferred.
