Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and investigating detainee grievances and communication submissions to ensure compliance with MTC, facility, and customer directives. This position ensures detainee rights are upheld, facilitates accurate and timely communication between detainees and ICE or other designated parties, and maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the grievance and communication systems..

What you will do

- Ensure grievance forms are readily available to all detainees.

- Collect all grievances from the detainee populations each workday, to include grievances from the restrictive housing unit and medical housing.

- Assist detainees with the submission of grievances when requested by a detainee.

- Ensure grievances are reviewed for emergency issues and immediately process any grievance that contains a complaint about matters for which disposition within regular time limits would subject the grieving detainee to substantial risk of personal injury or cause serious or irreparable harm.

- Investigate detainee grievances about reported and suspected violations of statutes, rules or regulations through the collection of relevant documents, obtaining statements or video footage.

- Submit investigation results with recommended responses to the facility administrator for final processing and signature.

- Maintain a grievance file for each detainee who files a grievance

- Ensure each grievance is appropriately logged into the MTC Operation Data Base (ODS).

- Prepare comprehensive and detailed investigative reports; maintain appropriate grievance data and analyze trends.

- Maintain confidentiality while conducting investigations and in everyday activities.

What you will need

- High school diploma or GED required

- At least 21 years of age

- Three (3) years’ experience in corrections or detention environment or related field required

- US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.

- One (1) year of supervisory experience highly desired.

- Must successfully complete required pre-service training.

- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
