Description
The Quality Assurance Tech performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials in accordance with documented inspection instructions, engineering drawings, and applicable specifications. This role identifies and documents nonconformances using internal quality management systems, communicates findings to cross-functional stakeholders, and proposes mitigations or corrective solutions where possible.
Key job responsibilities
- Perform inspections per documented inspection instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and control plans using appropriate measurement tools and techniques
- Identify, classify, and document nonconformances accurately in internal quality systems, including clear descriptions of defects, affected quantities, and supporting evidence (photos, measurements)
- Communicate inspection results and nonconformance findings to engineering, supply chain, and quality teams in a clear and timely manner
- Propose mitigations, dispositions, or corrective solutions for identified nonconformances where possible, escalating complex issues as needed
- Operate and maintain inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, optical comparators, and go/no-go gauges
- Maintain inspection records, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation per quality system requirements
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities as needed
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent standards
- Monitor and flag trends in nonconformance data to support continuous improvement efforts
Basic Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience
- Experience in Unix
- Experience scripting in modern program languages
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, or experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
- Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
- 2+ years of experience in a quality inspection role in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
