About this role

JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Manager - Legal supports the Group General Counsel office in managing day-to-day litigation and legal function activities across the organisation's Airports, Energy, Urban Infrastructure, Properties, Taxes and Corporate businesses. The role is responsible for end-to-end litigation management, tracking and reporting on pending matters, coordinating with external counsel and internal business/legal teams, and supporting corporate initiatives within the legal function (including technology onboarding). The incumbent ensures timely attending court hearings, accurate cause list tracking, quality pleadings review, and reliable reporting to enable informed decision-making by the Group General Counsel and senior management.

Key Performance Indicators

Manage day-to-day litigation across Airports, Energy, Urban Infrastructure, Properties, Taxes and Corporate businesses, including tracking of causelists, hearing dates and case status
Accuracy and timeliness of causelist and matter tracking; no missed hearing dates or filing deadlines

Accuracy and timeliness of causelist and matter tracking; no missed hearing dates or filing deadlines
Quality and timeliness of pleadings review; consistent court/conference attendance as required

Prepare daily and weekly litigation status reports, and notes/briefs (including on weekends when required) on hearing updates and case developments for management
Timeliness, completeness and accuracy of daily/weekly reports and notes submitted to management

Support corporate initiatives within the legal function, including onboarding of legal technology tools, process improvements and some corporate/transactional matters

Successful and timely implementation of assigned legal technology and process initiatives

Attend management and strategy decision meetings, prepare minutes of meetings, and coordinate with the business and legal team on litigation and other transactions.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

LLB or LLM from a recognised university; enrolled with the Bar Council

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in litigation management, preferably including exposure to infrastructure, energy, airports, real estate or corporate/commercial sectors, gained in-house or at a law firm
