## Position Summary
The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Content Marketing Specialist will drive visibility, inquiries, applications, and enrollments for NYU’s schools and graduate degree and certificate programs. In an ever-evolving digital landscape where search engines and AI chatbots now shape how students discover and choose programs, we need a tenacious marketer to elevate NYU’s institutional position. Serve as a strategic driver of NYU’s long-term financial health, directly impacting the enrollment funnel by ensuring significant applicant depth and strong institutional fit for prospective students through targeted SEO and high-intent content marketing. Implement a data-informed, AI-assisted, and human-centric strategy that cuts through the noise to attract, engage, and convert prospective students into enrolled NYU students. Grow the team’s capacity to advance the strategic priorities of Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS), providing world-class support to NYU’s school partners. Bridge the gap between technical search hygiene and compelling storytelling, ensuring NYU’s digital presence is as vibrant and impactful as our physical campuses. Whether pivoting between technical optimization, content strategy, or the emerging world of AI Search Optimization (AI SEO), lead with curiosity and determination within a collaborative, innovative environment.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, PR, or a related field.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in marketing, communications, business, digital media, advertising, or a related field.
Required Experience: 5+ years Relevant SEO and content marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years Hands-on experience in SEO and content marketing in higher education, non-profit sector, at an Online Program Management (OPM) company, or a marketing agency. Proven track record of managing SEO and content marketing strategies that resulted in measurable growth in organic visibility and conversions.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong understanding and competency in SEO, AI SEO, and content marketing with a growth mindset toward ongoing learning and development. Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Google Looker Studio and/or Tableau, Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, Google Slides or PowerPoint, AI chatbots, content management systems (CMS), and other SEO and content marketing tools. Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and collaboration skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects. Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to track, organize, analyze, and report on large amounts of complex information, distilling it into actionable, easy-to-understand insights for non-technical leadership. Demonstrated experience adapting strategies for search evolution, including but not limited to Google AI Overviews and zero-click searches. Enthusiastic about contributing to the ever-expanding evolution of education and enrollment marketing at NYU.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and structured data, and how they impact user experience and organic and AI search performance. Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, AI SEO, content marketing, growth marketing, PR, and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices. Experience with Microsoft Clarity and prompt engineering. Experience in setting up, testing, validating, and debugging event tracking for websites.

## Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
