Internal Audit is hiring an Audit Manager within Model, Data and AI Audit Team. This role will provide an independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the Bank’s Model, Data and AI risk management, governance, and control processes within the first and second line of defense, their compliance with regulations, internal policies, and procedures .

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

- Support the Officer in Charge (OIC) with the execution of assigned audits. This includes completion of audit testing, discussions with management and effective documentation of work performed. May act as OIC for low to medium complexity audits.

- Plan, execute and report on the assigned audits. Obtains a thorough understanding of the business/unit/ process and associated risks, develops an appropriate risk-based audit approach, and schedules timing and resources.

- Ensure audit results are gathered, determining the root cause of the problem and the associated impact. Drafts reports and issues. Presents audit results and findings for presentation to management.

- Support Model, Data and AI risk audit Centre of Excellence activities, support in preparation of audit strategy, annual planning, standardized detailed audit procedures, and training program.

- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

- Ensure Scotiabank standards and the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics are maintained in completion of all assignments.

- Stay informed on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends. Conveys risk-related information to Officer-in-Charge or Audit Principal and senior management in a timely manner.

- Maintain stakeholder relationships to successfully carry out audit activities.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? – We would love to work with you if you have:

- Two or more years of relevant experience in in one or more of the following: audit, model, data and AI governance and risk management, or related risk and control functions.

- Working knowledge of model, data, or AI-related regulatory expectations.

- Developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to work with the key stakeholders at various levels.

- Experience managing multiple priorities and working effectively in an evolving environment.

- Self-motivated and able to work and learn independently.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.

Preferred

- Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.

- Experience using analytics, automation, or AI-enabled tools.

- Relevant professional designation, such as CIA, CISA, DCAM, CRISC or an equivalent credential.
