Payroll & HR Associate

Full-Time | On-Site | Penn Hills, PA

Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Payroll & HR Associate to join our team. This position will be an important part of our payroll and human resources operations, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while providing professional and responsive HR support.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable handling confidential employee information. This person must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, communicate effectively with employees and management, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Payroll

Process accurate biweekly payroll for 150+ employees

Review timekeeping records and verify payroll information

Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

Maintain accurate payroll records

Prepare payroll-related reports

Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll tax requirements

Human Resources

Assist with employee onboarding and new-hire paperwork

Complete and maintain required employment documentation

E-Verify and employment eligibility verification

Maintain confidential employee files and HR records

Assist with employment verifications

Assist with benefits administration and employee benefit questions

Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and HR matters

Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional manner

Prepare and type employee and business correspondence, letters, and other documents

Compliance & Reporting

Assist with payroll and HR audits

Maintain required records and documentation

Assist with compliance requirements and company policies

Prepare reports and documentation as needed

Safety & Team Support

Participate as a member of the company Safety Committee

Assist with safety-related communications, meetings, and documentation

Work cooperatively with management and employees to support company policies and procedures.

Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

- Previous payroll or human resources experience preferred

- Payroll processing experience is a strong plus

- E-Verify experience is a plus

- Experience with Paycom or other payroll systems preferred

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

- Professional and courteous phone manner

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Ability to meet firm payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Dependable, professional, and willing to learn
