As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing performance strategies, evaluating and optimizing complex software systems, ensuring their reliability and maintainability, and mentoring junior engineers.. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the technical foundation behind our flagship products and services.

Responsibilities: Performance Engineering: Identify performance requirements and risks early in the development lifecycle. Execute load and stress tests, interpret results, analyze performance bottlenecks, and work with the team to improve response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
Monitoring and Observability: Build and use monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting to understand service behavior. Define and review service health indicators, use telemetry to detect performance regressions, and make systems easier to diagnose in production.

Project Management: Be able to manage performance execution and delivery of features and projects, negotiating project priorities and deadlines, ensuring successful and timely completion, with quality.
Code and Runtime Optimization: Analyze application and system behavior to find inefficient code paths or resource usage. Recommend and implement optimizations, then validate their impact through measurement and testing.
Performance Troubleshooting: Investigate complex performance issues using profiling and diagnostic tools, including heap and thread dump analysis. Identify root causes and drive fixes and preventive measures.
Architectural Design: Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, and contribute to the architectural design of new features and systems. Consider scalability, reliability, maintainability, observability, and performance throughout the design process.

Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Code Review: Review code developed by other engineers, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a high bar for technical excellence. Promote coding guidelines, elegant and efficient implementations, maintainability, observability, and unit testing.
Testing: Develop and maintain performance test scripts and automation using tools such as LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, and JavaScript-based frameworks.

Debugging and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure high-quality service operations.
Service Health and Quality: Maintain service health and quality, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Use service health indicators and telemetry to recommend improvements to reliability and performance. Lead thorough root cause analyses and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Documentation: Document new features, enhancements, fixes, and relevant performance findings. Contribute to technical documentation and training materials.

Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate to improve innovation and productivity within the team (e.g., Copilot).

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience either in software development or performance engineering, preferably in a product-based or SaaS organization.

Hands-On experience with software development practices and in workload modeling, performance test planning, scripting, test execution, monitoring, and results analysis.
Proficiency with performance testing and APM Tools such as LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, k6, Grafana, Dynatrace.
Use APM and diagnostic tools such as Grafana, Datadog, dynatrace, Fiddler, browser developer tools, and platform monitoring solutions to identify bottlenecks and performance risks.
Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and bug/work tracking systems like JIRA.
Understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
