Fast-growing developer cloud platform used by millions of developers to build, deploy, and scale modern applications. The company has raised $250M+ and is continuing to expand its core infrastructure platform.

Theyre hiring an Engineering Manager to build and lead a team focused on object storage and stateful services . This is a highly technical management role for someone who can develop engineers, set architectural direction, and help take a new infrastructure product from early design through production launch.

What Youll Do

- Build, hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team

- Own performance management, feedback, coaching, and career development

- Set technical direction and participate deeply in architecture and system-design decisions

- Lead development of a greenfield object-storage platform and future stateful-service abstractions

- Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Design, and customers on roadmap and product decisions

- Balance engineering velocity with reliability, scalability, security, and operational quality

- Help define the developer experience around storage and other persistent infrastructure

- Lead complex distributed-systems projects from concept through production

What Theyre Looking For

- 8+ years of software engineering experience

- 2+ years managing and developing engineers , including hiring and performance management

- Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, DevTools, or highly scalable backend systems

- Experience designing or operating stateful services at scale

- Strong architecture and systems-design judgment

- Comfortable managing highly senior engineers while remaining technically engaged

- Experience taking ambiguous or greenfield infrastructure projects from design to production

- Strong product instincts and ability to connect infrastructure decisions to developer/customer experience

Especially Relevant

Experience with one or more of the following is particularly valuable:

- Object storage or blob storage

- S3-compatible systems

- Distributed databases or storage engines

- Stateful cloud services

- Replication, durability, consistency, partitioning, or failure recovery

- Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure

- Large-scale developer platforms

Compensation & Location

Base salary: $204,000–$289,000 + equity
