About this role

ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

Your role

- You analyze and evaluate cleaning and inspection processes of optical components and contribute to their improvement.
- You are the direct point of contact for the production teams (1st and 2nd level) and provide technical guidance to the staff.
- As the interface to production, you accompany production processes, monitor manufacturing quality, and are responsible for initiating and planning measures with appropriate tools (PDCA, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Creating documentation on manufacturing and/or acceptance procedures (WI) according to specification is also a regular task.
- Additionally, you perform experiments with suitable parameters and document them conscientiously.
- You check, calibrate, and monitor equipment, consumables, as well as test and measurement instruments, and are responsible for coordinating maintenance work.
- Process-wise, you support technological changes in alignment with the relevant specialist departments and process engineers.

Your profile

- You have a successfully completed apprenticeship as a Feinoptiker (fine optician) and technician training, plus several years of specific experience in optical processing with interfaces to Engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in technical cleaning or quality control of optical components, as well as in production processes, preferably in the optical industry.
- You bring demonstrable experience in process optimization within a production environment.
- Thanks to your structured and rational thinking, you are able to keep your priorities in view even in complex or unclear situations.
- Your goal-oriented and responsible work approach goes hand in hand with high resilience and a strong hands-on mentality.
- Very good German and good English skills, in spoken and written form, round off your profile.
