Role Overview
The Site Lead will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics operations at the site , ensuring seamless transportation, JIT/JIS line feeding, EXIM operations, warehouse and hub flows, and overall service delivery. The role will lead operational excellence, stakeholder governance, LSP/3PL performance, cost optimization, and team capability building while driving the site towards higher efficiency, resilience, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Logistics Operations
- Lead domestic transportation operations including Milk Runs, FTL/PTL/LTL and multimodal movements aligned with production schedules.
- Ensure JIT/JIS adherence and seamless line feeding through close coordination with plant and logistics teams.
- Oversee cross-dock, consolidation hubs, warehouse flows, and transportation operations for optimal utilization and efficiency.
- Drive exception management, TAT adherence, POD compliance, damage control, RCA, and corrective actions.
- Manage end-to-end EXIM operations , including customs clearance, documentation, freight coordination, and inland delivery.
- Optimize mode mix across Air, Ocean and LCL , balancing cost, service, and urgency.
2. Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Act as the primary interface for client SCM, plant leadership, procurement, finance, and other key stakeholders .
- Govern LSP/3PL performance through structured daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
- Build strong executive-level relationships and position the logistics operation as a strategic business partner.
3. Operational Excellence & Transformation
- Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives across site operations.
- Lead network optimization initiatives including lane redesign, hub rationalization, and carrier strategy.
- Drive digital transformation through TMS, WMS, visibility platforms, automation, and data-driven solutions .
- Implement and maintain SOPs, audit frameworks, governance mechanisms, and control towers.
- Identify and deliver initiatives focused on cost reduction, service improvement, productivity, and operational resilience .
4. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop cross-functional teams across operations, EXIM, and analytics .
- Build a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, safety, and data-driven decision-making.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building.
- Ensure compliance with HSSE and operational safety standards .
- Coach teams on client management, analytics, problem-solving, and effective decision-making.
5. Analytics, Reporting & Business Reviews
- Own site-level performance dashboards covering cost, service, productivity, and LSP performance .
- Lead Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide real-time operational insights and ensure effective tracking and closure of corrective actions.
- Use data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in OEM/Automotive logistics operations , preferably in a 4PL/Lead Logistics environment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale transportation and site operations with multiple LSPs/3PLs.
- Exposure to JIT/JIS, Milk Runs, EXIM, TMS/WMS, Control Towers, and logistics transformation will be highly valued.
