What that actually feels like day to day: we're 300+ people, backed by Sequoia, moving at a speed that surprises most people who join us. Products ship in weeks, not quarters. There's no thick layer of process between an idea and it going live. You'll own things visibly bigger than your title. Some experiments will fail publicly, and we'll talk about them openly on Monday. Why This Role Exists We grew Vaibhav Sisinty's YouTube channel from 60K to 840K+ subscribers in about a year , and we're now publishing across multiple channels and formats — from AI news and tool walkthroughs to model comparisons and long-form documentaries. As we scale, we need a strong content leader who can own the long-form script function end-to-end while building a team that can consistently deliver high-quality scripts without depending on one person. In this role, you'll own hooks, structure, pacing, research accuracy, voice consistency and viewer retention , while building the systems and team required to scale our content output.
What You'll Do Content & Script Ownership Own the long-form script function across Vaibhav's channel and Outskill. Write and review long-form YouTube scripts from hook to close. Own hooks, structure, pacing and voice consistency. Ensure every script is engaging, accurate and built to hold viewer attention. Work closely with the creator and content team to translate topics into compelling narratives. Personally write scripts and set the quality bar for the team.
Audience Retention & Performance Own script performance through viewer retention and engagement. Track Average View Duration (AVD) and key retention points. Analyse retention graphs to identify where and why viewers drop off. Improve hooks, transitions, structure and pacing based on performance data. Run structural experiments across different formats and content styles. Use insights from published videos to continuously improve future scripts.
Research & Content Accuracy Build a strong research and fact-checking process for AI, technology and business content. Ensure every factual claim is properly researched and verified. Build research protocols and fact-checking standards. Work with researchers to ensure scripts are accurate, credible and up to date. Simplify complex AI and technology concepts without losing accuracy. Build a system where factual accuracy doesn't depend on one person.
Team Leadership Lead and develop a team of 5–10 writers and researchers . Hire, onboard and develop writers and researchers. Set clear writing standards and quality benchmarks. Conduct regular script reviews and provide actionable feedback. Help new writers reach publishable quality quickly. Manage performance and address underperformance directly and fairly. Build a high-ownership, high-quality writing culture.
Content Systems & Processes Build scalable systems that allow the team to consistently produce high-quality content. Create script briefs, templates and review processes. Build hook libraries and reusable writing frameworks. Establish draft stages, review gates and turnaround timelines. Develop AI-assisted research and drafting workflows. Build systems that allow quality to scale without requiring constant rewriting by the Content Lead.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the broader YouTube content team. Collaborate with the YouTube Content Strategist/Packaging Lead on topics and content direction. Work with editors to ensure the script translates effectively into the final video. Collaborate directly with Vaibhav and other creators. Partner with researchers, designers and content teams to improve overall video performance. Challenge ideas constructively and make decisions based on evidence and audience data.
What We're Looking For We're looking for a hands-on content leader and exceptional long-form writer who understands that great YouTube scripts are built around retention, storytelling and audience psychology — not just good writing. The ideal candidate combines strong writing craft, analytical thinking, research rigour, AI fluency and team leadership .
Must-Have 5+ years of experience writing long-form video content for YouTube or a comparable platform. Proven portfolio of long-form scripts/videos with measurable performance. Strong understanding of YouTube retention, Average View Duration (AVD) and audience behaviour . 2+ years of experience managing 5–10 writers, researchers or content professionals . Experience hiring, onboarding, reviewing and managing content teams. Proven ability to write strong hooks, structures and narratives that hold viewer attention. Strong research and fact-checking skills with a high bar for accuracy. Experience working directly with a YouTuber/creator on channel growth. Comfortable reading and interpreting YouTube analytics and retention graphs. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Genuine interest in AI and emerging technology , with the ability to understand and explain complex topics clearly. Strong ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Good-to-Have Experience working on a YouTube channel with 1M+ subscribers . Experience managing scripts across multiple YouTube channels . Background in tech journalism, science communication, documentary production or business content . Experience creating AI, technology or business content for a global audience. Experience building AI-assisted research, writing or content workflows . Experience personally creating or publishing content. Experience building scalable content systems and writing frameworks.
