Position Summary:

This position provides specialized veterinary diagnostic imaging services to support the diagnosis, treatment, and clinical management of patients within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The primary purpose of the role is to deliver accurate and timely radiologic interpretations, collaborate with clinicians to guide patient care, and contribute to the teaching and advancement of veterinary diagnostic imaging through resident, intern, and student education.

Essential Job Duties:

- Interpret veterinary diagnostic imaging studies by reviewing radiographs, computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging modalities to provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive diagnostic reports that support patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Consult with clinicians by integrating diagnostic imaging findings with clinical history and ancillary diagnostic information, communicating results, discussing complex cases, and recommending additional imaging or diagnostic approaches to support high-quality patient care.
- Provide diagnostic imaging services by participating in assigned imaging rotations, including image interpretation, ultrasound, and advanced imaging services, while meeting established turnaround times, quality standards, and customer service expectations for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
- Educate and mentor veterinary learners by providing clinical instruction and guidance to residents, interns, and veterinary students during diagnostic imaging rotations, fostering the development of diagnostic reasoning and imaging interpretation skills.
- Contribute to the advancement of the diagnostic imaging service by participating in collaborative research, continuing education, outreach activities, and other scholarly or service initiatives as assigned or negotiated to support the mission of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support patient care, diagnostic imaging operations, educational programs, and the evolving needs of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Conditions of Employment:

- Pre-employment criminal background check (required for all new hires).
- Essential Services Designation: required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Supervision:

No formal supervisory authority.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A DVM or equivalent degree.
- American College of Veterinary Radiology or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) board certification or eligibility by start date. Board eligible candidates will be expected to achieve certification within one year of employment.
- Eligibility to obtain a State of Colorado Academic Veterinarian license.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated history of excellence in clinical work
- Demonstrated collegiality and contributions to a high-performance team.

# Salary Range
$225,000 - $235,000 for 1.0 FTE
