Chevron Eurasia is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to provide operational HSE support, assurance, and regulatory compliance across production, maintenance, logistics, contractor, and office activities. Based in Atyrau, the role may also support other business-line activities across Eurasia and interface with other international locations as directed by HSE leadership.
The successful candidate will work closely with employees, supervisors, contractors and management to identify and manage HSE risks, strengthen compliance and support the safe and reliable operation of the facility. The role will also serve as an advisor for all Operational Excellence (OE) processes and support compliance with the applicable RoK legislation and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities may include but not limited to the following:
- Provide hands-on HSE guidance, coaching and assurance support to employees, supervisors and contractors across production, maintenance, logistics and office activities.
- Maintain a strong field presence to identify hazards, verify safeguards, and support the safe planning and execution of high-risk and non-routine activities.
- Support operational planning, safety meetings and onboarding activities, monitor HSE and OE performance, track corrective actions, and provide reporting and recommendations to management.
- Lead and continuously improve key OE processes, including Control of Work, contractor assurance, compliance, emergency management, environmental stewardship, site risk management activities, and applicable environmental permitting and reporting requirements.
- Oversee contractor HSE onboarding and performance, coordinate occupational hygiene activities, and support delivery of the site's OE Plan.
- Coordinate HSE training, competency development, emergency response and business continuity activities to strengthen workforce capability and organizational readiness.
- Lead incident investigations and required notifications, ensure compliance with OEMS processes and RoK regulatory requirements, and drive corrective actions through verified closure.
- Communicate lessons learned, support performance reviews, and promote continuous improvement across the organization.
Knowledge and experience requirements
- 5+ years of HSE experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, energy or similar operational environments.
- Strong working knowledge of the RoK health, safety, environmental, fire safety and labor legislation, as well as regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices.
- Experience applying OE, HSE management systems, or similar risk management frameworks in operational settings.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization and with external stakeholders, while exercising sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills.

Relocation Options: Relocation will be considered within Chevron parameters.
