Job Description:
The Sr. Manager, Enterprise Communications provides strategic leadership for enterprise-wide communications that support organizational priorities, strengthen employee alignment, and advance company culture. This position develops and leads communication strategies across executive, employee, change, and enterprise initiatives while ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, relevant, and aligned with business objectives. The role serves as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders and partners across the organization to translate complex business priorities into effective communication strategies. The Sr. Manager also establishes communication standards, measurement practices, and team capabilities that continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of the communications function.
Primary Duties:
- Develops and leads the enterprise communications strategy, establishing priorities, audiences, messaging frameworks, channels, governance, and measurement practices that support organizational objectives.
- Serves as a strategic communications advisor to executive and senior leadership, translating complex business priorities into clear communication strategies, messaging, presentations, talking points, and other executive communications.
- Leads enterprise-wide employee communications strategies and integrated campaigns that improve awareness, understanding, alignment, and engagement across locations, functions, and employee populations.
- Develops and leads communication strategies for significant organizational changes, business initiatives, leadership transitions, technology implementations, and other enterprise-wide programs.
- Establishes editorial standards, communication governance, audience strategies, and channel practices that support consistent, accurate, timely, and effective communications across the organization.
- Develops measurement frameworks and performance reporting to evaluate communication reach, engagement, understanding, effectiveness, and organizational impact and uses findings to improve communication strategies.
- Partners with business leaders and cross-functional teams to anticipate communication needs and risks, establish priorities, align messaging, and develop solutions that support enterprise and functional objectives.
- Leads strategies that strengthen organizational culture and employee connection by reinforcing company priorities, values, accomplishments, and business outcomes through effective communications and storytelling.
- Continuously evaluates emerging communication practices, technologies, channels, audience needs, and organizational feedback to identify opportunities to strengthen the enterprise communications function.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains an integrated communications roadmap and editorial calendar to coordinate major enterprise initiatives, executive communications, employee campaigns, organizational events, and other communication priorities.
- Develops executive messaging, presentations, speeches, talking points, briefing materials, frequently asked questions, organizational updates, and other communications for high-impact business priorities.
- Provides communication counsel and preparation to leaders for significant employee, customer, public, or stakeholder communications.
- Develops audience-specific communication strategies that consider stakeholder needs, organizational readiness, timing, appropriate channels, and potential communication risks.
- Partners with Human Resources and business leaders to develop communications that support organizational changes, employee programs, culture initiatives, recognition, and employee engagement.
- Establishes communication performance measures and uses quantitative and qualitative feedback to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements to messaging, channels, timing, frequency, and audience strategies.
- Builds trusted partnerships across the organization to understand business priorities, identify emerging communication needs, and provide proactive recommendations.
- Develops team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, delegation, feedback, and opportunities for increased responsibility and professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, business, or a related discipline;
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate, enterprise, internal, executive, employee, or integrated communications, including experience developing communication strategies, leading enterprise-wide communication programs, partnering with senior or executive leadership, supporting organizational change, and developing communications talent;
- or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Experience within a complex, multi-location organization preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, technology, or business-to-business environments preferred.
- Experience with media relations, public relations, crisis communications, or reputation management preferred.

- Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, stakeholders, priorities, approvals, and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use performance data, employee feedback, audience insights, and other information to evaluate communication effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Ability to anticipate communication opportunities, organizational risks, stakeholder concerns, and information needs and develop effective strategies in response.
- Strong understanding of communication channels, digital communication practices, content development, audience segmentation, and evolving communication technologies.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, adapt to changing business needs, and maintain high standards of quality in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:
- Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
- Regular interaction and collaboration with employees, senior leaders, business partners, and other stakeholders across functions and locations.
- May attend company meetings, employee events, leadership presentations, or other business activities at various company locations.
- Occasional travel may be required based on business and communication needs.
- May occasionally require work outside normal business hours to support significant organizational announcements, events, or time-sensitive communications.
