## Job Description Summary
A Control Center Technician is a civilian security unit position trained to competently monitor and operate CCTV and electronic devices; providing entry and exit of authorized personnel through secure doors within the jail. This assignment requires rotating shifts in order to maintain jail functions 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday rotating every other weekend. 12 hour day 6am and 6pm start times. Day or Nights schedule determined by a yearly bid.

Training will take place on day shift.

Job Description

Essential duties and responsibilities - 90%

- Provides support to deputies to maintain safety, security and order within the Weld County jail
- Ensures continuous safety and security of inmates, staff, visitors and public by competently monitoring and providing authorized entry, exit and access throughout the facility via CCTV and electronic devices
- Observes inmates and maintains alertness, continuously to detect, deter or prevent self-destructive or criminal behaviors, including suicide, escape, assault, theft, criminal mischief, extortion ethnic intimidation, and introduction of contraband
- Allows only authorized entry and exit of secure jail perimeter and areas within the jail facility to maintain safety and security of the Weld County Jail

Important duties and responsibilities - 10%

- Documents unusual conditions or events in electronic and written form to be shared with other shifts and facility personnel to maintain safety, security and order within the Weld County Jail
- Executes emergency response and tactic plans, when necessary, for events including hostage, natural disaster, fire, riot, requests for assistance, and electrical power failure to maintain safety and security within the Weld County Jail

Required Qualifications

Required Education

- High School Diploma/GED

Skills and Abilities

- Must be at least 19 years of age.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English, and to read and interpret documents
such as safety rules, procedure, and operating manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of the general public or employees of organizations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to operate telephones; computer terminal, keyboard, photocopier, and scanning
instrumentation; and two-way radios.
- Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date.

Licenses and Certifications

- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid State-issued driver’s license
- Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening in accordance with Weld County policy.

This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
