Provo City is looking for a full-time Ice Arena Operations Coordinator to provide professional work responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing administrative, recreational, and/or special event programs at Peaks Ice Arena. Job Duties

What is the compensation?

Starting Range: (G24, 25) $23.56 – $28.69 per hour (depending on experience)

Full Pay Range: $23.56 - $36.72 per hour

What are the main duties?

- Oversee the planning, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of ice arena operations.
- Schedule employees, ice schedule, private reservations, group reservations, needed facilities, and appropriate access.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with schools, program participants, and community resources.
- Supervise front counter, concessions, custodial, facility maintenance, and general operations.
- Oversee recruiting, evaluating, training, and supervision of assigned staff.
- Identify and resolve performance issues including enacting discipline under the general direction of a supervisor.
- Develop creative marketing strategies and marketing materials for various programs.
- Evaluate assigned programs and identify areas of success, deficiencies, and/or needed improvements.
- Oversee creation of budget for assigned responsibilities.
- Oversee daily deposits and ensure proper cash handling techniques are followed.
- Order supplies and authorize material purchases.
- Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of job-related education and experience [substituting each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience].

Coordinator I

- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or closely related field.
- A valid, lawful Driver License.

Coordinator II

- The above plus:
- One year of experience in recreational program management.

Preference given to candidates with experience in business administration, operations, and/or supervision.

What is the schedule and hours?

Flexible depending on chosen candidate’s availability work is available Monday -Sunday. Must work 40 hours a week. Will require some evenings and weekend work.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held 7 days after the posting date. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
