Job Title: Project Manager Job Description The Project Manager leads and manages multiple engineering, utility, infrastructure, and technical services projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in line with client and contractual requirements. This role owns project and portfolio performance, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager also plays a key role in developing scalable project controls, automating reporting, and standardizing project management practices to support the successful delivery of complex utility and engineering projects in a growing, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

- Manage multiple concurrent projects and programs from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project management plans, including schedules, work breakdown structures, milestones, and resource plans.
- Coordinate activities among engineering, design, field operations, quality assurance/quality control, finance, contracts, procurement, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance using established metrics and drive corrective actions when project objectives are at risk.
- Lead project closeout activities, including documentation, lessons learned sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Own project financial performance, including revenue forecasting, cost forecasting, estimate-to-complete (ETC), estimate-at-completion (EAC), labor utilization, staffing mix, and margin management.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, recommending and implementing mitigation actions.
- Support project funding requests, financial analysis, change management, and executive-level reporting.
- Develop and maintain project forecasts to improve business planning, portfolio visibility, and overall financial performance.
- Partner with operational and financial leadership to improve forecasting accuracy and project profitability.
- Review and interpret statements of work, client contracts, project assumptions, deliverables, and commercial requirements.
- Identify scope changes, commercial exposure, contractual risks, and change-order opportunities across projects.
- Lead change-order development, including preparation, negotiation support, documentation, and execution.
- Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure accountability for risk resolution.
- Maintain project governance processes and ensure compliance with organizational and client requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project and portfolio performance metrics to track delivery performance and efficiency.
- Establish dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide clear visibility into project health, forecasted outcomes, resource utilization, and financial performance.
- Monitor portfolio trends, identify emerging issues, and communicate actionable insights to leadership.
- Support leadership decision-making through data-driven reporting and performance analysis.
- Maintain key performance indicator (KPI) frameworks to measure project delivery performance, resource efficiency, quality, forecasting accuracy, and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate resource requirements across multiple projects and workstreams to ensure appropriate staffing and capabilities.
- Forecast staffing demands and identify resource constraints before they impact project execution.
- Partner with operational leaders to optimize capacity, balance workload, and improve resource utilization.
- Monitor competing priorities and workload demands to ensure successful delivery across all assigned projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain scalable project management processes, standards, and controls.
- Leverage Smartsheet and other project management platforms to automate workflows, reporting, alerts, and dashboards.
- Standardize reporting methodologies, templates, and project controls across programs and portfolios.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve project execution, visibility, consistency, and operational scalability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project status meetings, performance reviews, risk discussions, and financial reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, challenges, risks, and recovery plans clearly and effectively to clients and internal leadership.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, reliable delivery, and a focus on client satisfaction.
- Support the continued standardization and automation of project management processes and reporting to enable the team to scale without unnecessary administrative burden.

Essential Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of project management experience supporting engineering, utility, construction, infrastructure, technical services, or similar industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing project financials, schedules, risks, resources, and client deliverables with direct accountability for project outcomes.
- Experience managing multiple projects or portfolios simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting both time-and-materials (T&M) and fixed-fee projects, including responsibility for forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance management.
- Proficiency in project management, including scope management, scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and project controls.
- Experience with construction or construction management and project coordination in technical or infrastructure environments.
- Ability to develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans.
- Strong skills in project financials, including revenue and cost forecasting, ETC/EAC, labor utilization, and margin management.
- Proficiency with Smartsheet and Excel for project planning, tracking, reporting, and automation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, present performance updates, and engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Proven ability to identify risks, manage change orders, and maintain project governance and compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
- Utility, power delivery, engineering consulting, or professional services experience preferred.
- Experience establishing and maintaining dashboards and KPI frameworks for project and portfolio performance.
- Experience standardizing project controls, reporting methodologies, and templates across programs and portfolios.
- Background in process improvement and automation of project management workflows and reporting.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor for project delivery and performance.
- Comfort working in a rapidly growing environment where project volumes and portfolio complexity may increase over time.

Work Environment This role operates in a dynamic environment that supports critical engineering and sciences initiatives and involves both office-based project management and field visits. The Project Manager works with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, field operations, finance, contracts, procurement, and quality functions, leveraging tools such as Smartsheet and Excel to manage schedules, resources, and project controls. The position supports a growing portfolio of utility, infrastructure, and technical services projects, with a strong emphasis on standardization, automation, and scalable processes to reduce administrative burden and increase capacity. Field visits are required to support project execution, coordination, and oversight at active sites.

This is a Permanent position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
