We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Middle Office Control.
This role sits at the heart of post-trade and post-settlement control for FX and IR futures, ensuring front office and back office records align and that exceptions are resolved quickly and accurately. You’ll manage daily reconciliations, exception queues and MI reporting while improving processes to reduce systemic breaks and strengthen operational risk controls. Working closely with Front Office, Product Control, IT and Operations teams you’ll coordinate investigations, escalate material risks and deliver timely resolution. You’ll also respond to Audit, Regulatory and Compliance requests tied to day-to-day activities. Success means cleaner reconciliations, better transparency through reporting and a workflow that is simpler, more efficient and well controlled.

Activities

- Own daily FX reconciliations between front office risk and operations systems by monitoring exception queues and ensuring breaks are investigated and cleared
- Perform IR futures reconciliations to confirm positions are accurate and brokerage fees are correctly reflected in systems
- Coordinate exception resolution with Front Office, IT and Product Control to restore accurate books and records
- Run daily MI for control reporting to Front Office and provide clear commentary on exceptions for further review
- Review and validate completion of daily operational tasks to ensure controls run as intended
- Address Audit, Regulatory and Compliance requests linked to reconciliation and operational activity
- Escalate trade issues that could create financial loss or impact client relationships and track them through to resolution
- Strengthen workflow efficiency by proposing improvements and supporting IT projects and new business implementations

Qualifications

- Bring hands-on experience in reconciliations and exception management across front-to-back trade flows in a markets operations environment
- Apply strong knowledge of product workflows with proven understanding of operational risk and related controls
- Interpret breaks and operational issues quickly then make sound decisions to progress resolution within bank guidelines
- Use financial processing systems and accounting knowledge to validate positions, fees and operational data quality
- Partner effectively with Front Office, Product Control, IT and Operations teams to coordinate outcomes across stakeholders
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally when explaining exceptions, risks and actions to internal clients
- Prioritise effectively across daily controls, ad-hoc issues and regulatory or audit requests
- Demonstrate equivalent experience in a financial or related discipline in place of formal academic qualifications
