CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Assoc. VP, Human Resources Operations provides enterprise-wide leadership for the technology, transaction, analytics, and service-delivery infrastructure that enables the University of Miami’s Human Resources function. This leader ensures that HR operations are efficient, integrated, data-driven, customer-focused, and aligned with the University's strategic priorities.

The position oversees a broad portfolio that includes HR information technology, HR transactions and operational services, the HR Call Center, recruitment and position control analytics and reporting, and related HR systems and processes. The position partners extensively with HR executive leadership, University leadership, Finance, Information Technology, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and other internal stakeholders.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Provides strategic leadership and governance for the HR technology ecosystem, ensuring Workday HCM and related platforms align with organizational strategy, security, compliance, and user experience requirements.

2. Optimizes HR platforms by driving standardized configurations, automation, self-service tools, system integrations, data integrity, and a strategic technology roadmap.

3. Ensures internal control oversight, risk assessments, asset safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and reliable operational reporting across the unit.

4. Leads enterprise HR transaction operations, ensuring timely, accurate, customer-focused service delivery while establishing quality controls and service-level expectations.

5. Streamlines core HR operational processes through continuous process improvement, workflow automation, standardization, and performance monitoring.

6. Directs the strategic implementation and operation of the HR Call Center, providing accessible support to faculty, staff, and university managers.

7. Facilitates specialized HR triaging by partnering with Leave Management, Benefits, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, and Client Services leadership.

8. Enhances service delivery by leveraging call center metrics, knowledge management systems, digital self-service channels, and employee experience trends.

9. Develops enterprise dashboards, metrics, and workforce analytics to provide actionable insights into recruiting performance, vacancies, staffing trends, and pipeline forecasting.

10. Automates executive reporting for Physician & Executive Recruitment, PSGC reconciliations, operating plan alignments, and position control analytics.

11. Establishes data governance standards across HR information assets to improve data accuracy, consistency, usability, and executive decision-making.

12. Advises the CHRO and HR executive leadership as a strategic partner on HR operations, technology, workforce analytics, and enterprise service delivery.

13. Builds and leads a high-performing team of HR operations, technology, analytics, and customer service professionals while executing the university’s HR transformation agenda.

14. Creates cross-functional governance structures across HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, and Total Rewards to clarify decision rights, manage strategic projects, and execute enterprise initiatives.

15. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required
