The Lead EP is responsible for the delivery and implementation of Cardiac Rehabilitation which includes but is not limited to Phase 1, 2, 3 cardiac rehab, cardiac disease education. Responsible for all activities related to optimal delivery of care to the Cardiac Rehabilitation patient. Responsible for the development and maintenance of area of expertise. Acts as a resource person for the physician and other members of the health care team. The Lead EP functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of cardiac care. The Lead EP coordinates care delivered by the interdisciplinary team across the continuum of care. The Lead EP collaborates with the Team Lead and Rehab Program Manager to develop the cardiac rehabilitation program based on most recent research and evidence. This role integrates the components of clinician, educator, and consultant as well as implements and supervises the physical exercise program. The Lead EP is accountable for compliance with applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
Education
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

- Area of study or major : Exercise Science, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- Preferred educational qualifications : Master’s Degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certification: Current BLS at time of hire. ACLS within 90 days.
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Exercise Physiologist
Prior specific functional responsibilities: Demonstrated clinical excellence or superior performance in a variety of clinical settings. Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred experience: Leadership experience, Cardiac rehab patient care

Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to analyze, prioritize and evaluate patient needs in an efficient and effective manner.
- Ability to assess, recommend, implement or modify respiratory care procedures by protocol or by physician order.
- Understanding of third party payment systems and CMS coverage.
- Understanding of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and respiratory care techniques used to manage patients with cardiopulmonary diseases.
- Must be able to complete all clinical and didactic yearly competencies for clinical areas assigned.
- Possesses ability to educate staff, physicians and patients on related disease processes, treatments and/or medications.
