WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to solve complex spatial problems and an understanding of Forest Management Processes in Ontario to assist an established client base.

GIS Analysis:

- Conduct in-depth spatial analysis using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to extract meaningful insights from geospatial data.

- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and maps.

- Perform tasks such as spatial interpolation, buffering, overlay analysis, and network analysis.

- Deliver GIS projects to clients adhering to required standards and procedures.

- Develop and maintain client data for online platforms.

Data Management:

- Collect, clean, and manage geospatial data from various sources.

- Ensure data quality and integrity.

Project Management:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver GIS solutions.

- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources and communicate with clients.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GIS.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have:

- Bachelor’s degree (in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Strong proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).

- Proficient with common GIS programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and frameworks (e.g., arcpy, pandas).

- Understanding of spatial data structures and algorithms.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- A knowledge of forest management and forest data is an asset, especially in an Ontario context.
