Job Title: HD Pharmacist Job Description
This on-site HD Pharmacist role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient pharmacy workflow operations and ensuring that patients receive high-quality, accurately dispensed medications. The pharmacist oversees the full dispensing process, supports a small, detail-oriented team of pharmacy professionals, and ensures compliance with all Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations. This position is ideal for an experienced Florida-licensed pharmacist with a background in long-term care pharmacy who thrives in a fast-paced, production-focused environment and values strong teamwork and a positive culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial review of all incoming medication orders each day to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness before processing.
- Conduct final verification and review of all packaged products prepared by pharmacy technicians, confirming correct drug, dose, route, labeling, and packaging prior to dispensing.
- Clarify orders directly with facilities when directions or other order details require confirmation or correction, ensuring safe and accurate therapy for patients.
- Direct and manage daily pharmacy workflow to ensure production goals and run times are consistently met, adjusting priorities as needed to maintain timely dispensing.
- Complete all required documentation related to workflow, order processing, verification steps, and regulatory compliance in a thorough and timely manner.
- Support and maintain full staffing levels in the pharmacy by collaborating with leadership and team members to ensure adequate coverage across rotating shifts and weekends.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in full compliance with Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations and internal policies, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of medications.
- Engage in accurate and efficient data entry of prescription and order information into the pharmacy system, maintaining high attention to detail to prevent errors.
- Participate in rotating shifts, rotating weekends, and some holiday coverage, contributing to reliable pharmacy operations during all scheduled hours.
- Collaborate closely with a small, highly detailed team of pharmacy professionals, fostering a positive, team-oriented culture and supporting peers to meet shared goals.
- Contribute to a strong production environment by maintaining a great attitude, demonstrating reliability, and aligning with the organizations cultural values.
- Participate in a shared Saturday rotation, ensuring timely completion of all tasks and shipments before the facility closes for the day.
Essential Skills
- Active, in-good-standing Pharmacist license in the state of Florida (FL Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist).
- PharmD degree or higher education in pharmacy (required).
- At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacist in a long-term care pharmacy setting (required).
- Demonstrated experience performing initial reviews of incoming medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Proficiency in final verification of medications dispensed by pharmacy technicians, including checking packaging, labeling, and contents.
- Experience clarifying medication orders with facilities and other healthcare partners to resolve discrepancies and ensure safe therapy.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail in pharmacy systems.
- Ability to manage and direct pharmacy workflow to meet production goals and run times.
- Solid understanding of and adherence to Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations and pharmacy compliance requirements.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, rotating weekends, and some holidays within a non-overnight schedule.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, collaborative attitude in a production-focused environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy beyond the minimum requirement is a plus and helps support complex patient and facility needs.
- Familiarity with Frameworks EMR or Frameworks operating system is highly preferred, though not required.
- Comfort working in a small, highly detailed team of pharmacy professionals where communication and collaboration are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing workflow demands while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete required documentation thoroughly and on time.
- Interest in potential contract-to-hire opportunities, contingent on strong production performance and cultural fit.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site role in a pharmacy environment, working as part of a small, highly detailed team of pharmacy professionals. The position follows a 4x10 schedule, providing four 10-hour shifts per week and an additional day off. Typical schedules include an opening shift from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and a closing shift from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with no overnight shifts. Pharmacists participate in a shared Saturday rotation, with weekend hours generally running from 8:30 AM until approximately 6:00 PM or until the final shipment leaves the facility. Rotating shifts, rotating weekends, and some holiday coverage are required to support consistent operations. Schedules are created and shared three weeks in advance to support work-life balance and allow team members to plan their personal commitments. The pharmacy operates in a production-focused setting that emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The environment supports potential contract-to-hire opportunities for those who demonstrate strong performance and cultural alignment. The dress code for this role is scrubs, suitable for a professional pharmacy setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
