The Preconstruction Analyst I supports the preconstruction team by planning, coordinating, and documenting commercial mechanical construction projects. This role supports document control, plan and specification review, takeoff assistance, tracking logs, and coordination of required preconstruction deliverables. The Preconstruction Analyst I works under the guidance of more senior preconstruction team members and is expected to develop technical knowledge, process discipline, and a clear understanding of company standards. The core areas of responsibility are listed below; however, other duties and responsibilities may be required to meet business needs and objectives.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive):

Project Support:

- Assist the preconstruction team with day-to-day support activities for assigned projects.
- Support the organization and completion of required preconstruction documentation in a timely manner.
- Help maintain project tracking logs, schedules, and supporting records.

Documentation:

- Assist in maintaining organized records of drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, CORs, takeoffs, and related documents.
- Help ensure documentation is complete, current, and available for project turnover.
- Support document revisions and distribution of updated information to appropriate team members.

Plan and Specification Review Support:

- Assist in reviewing plans and specifications to identify scope requirements and missing information.
- Support quantity takeoffs and other data collection activities for budgeting and planning purposes.
- Escalate discrepancies or technical concerns to higher-level team members.

Operational Support:

- Assist in identifying risks, missing information, and workflow gaps during the preconstruction phase.
- Support communication with internal team members, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
- Contribute to the smooth transition of projects from preconstruction to operations.

Key Performance Indicators:

- Timely completion of assigned preconstruction tasks and documentation
- Accuracy and organization of project files and tracking logs
- Responsiveness to project support requests and follow-up actions
- Development of technical knowledge and reduced rework over time

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Basic ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam Revu, Viewpoint, or similar software preferred

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma required; associate’s degree or construction-related coursework preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in construction, project support, coordination, or preconstruction support
- Exposure to commercial HVAC, plumbing, or piping projects preferred
- Willingness to learn company systems, standards, and workflows
