Job Summary

You will own the Signals video UI, the primary customer-facing surface of the Signals platform, as we bring it in-house from a third-party vendor. You will be the first of a two-person frontend team, setting the standards and codebase that the second engineer will build on.

About the Role

You will own the Signals video UI, the primary customer-facing surface of the Signals platform, as we bring it in-house from a third-party vendor. You will be the first of a two-person frontend team, setting the standards and codebase that the second engineer will build on.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the Signals video UI codebase and development lifecycle.

- Lead knowledge transfer from the current vendor UX designer.

- Partner with the video/streaming backend team on end-to-end streaming experience.

- Establish frontend standards for testing, accessibility, and performance.

- Prepare the team and codebase for the paired frontend hire later in 2027.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years in frontend engineering.

- Strong experience with real-time video UI (WebRTC clients, media players).

- Deep experience with a modern frontend framework (React preferred).

- Accessibility and performance-first mindset.

- Comfort owning a customer-facing surface end to end.

Nice to Have

- Security or surveillance product UI experience.

- Design system authoring experience.

- Prior work inheriting a codebase from a vendor or design agency.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $170,000 to $200,000 (DOE)
