Job Title: Architectural Project Manager (Architecture) Job Description
This role leads complex architectural projects from early design through construction completion. The Architectural Project Manager oversees client relationships, project financials, schedules, and staffing while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants. The position ensures high design quality, rigorous documentation, and successful project delivery across civic, museum, convention center, commercial, and other building types.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects from concept design through construction administration, ensuring alignment with project goals, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, managing communication, expectations, and overall client satisfaction.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans, and monitor financial performance to ensure projects meet profitability and performance targets.
- Coordinate and oversee consultant teams, including engineering and specialty consultants, to ensure integrated, coordinated project delivery.
- Lead contract negotiations and administer contracts with clients and consultants, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Ensure quality control and consistency of project documentation, including design development and construction documents, in accordance with office standards and industry best practices.
- Oversee the preparation and review of construction documents, including drawings and specifications, to support accurate bidding and successful construction.
- Direct and support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in site observations.
- Guide and support design development efforts to maintain design integrity while addressing technical, budgetary, and constructability considerations.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and clear communication among architects, designers, and consultants.
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, interviews, and client presentations, helping to secure new work and expand client relationships.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Apply knowledge of sustainability principles to inform design and project decisions, aligning with project and client goals.
- Utilize project management tools and software to track schedules, budgets, and resources, and to report on project status to internal stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of architectural experience with progressively responsible roles on complex projects.
- Proven architectural project management experience leading projects from design through construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
- Strong client management skills, including experience serving as primary client contact.
- Experience coordinating and managing consultant teams, including multidisciplinary engineering and specialty consultants.
- Proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination.
- Experience with construction documents and construction administration processes.
- Strong understanding of design development and architectural design processes.
- Experience with commercial building projects and complex building types such as civic, museum, and convention center projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Bachelors degree in Architecture.
- Proficiency with Excel for project financial tracking and reporting.
- Experience with budget, schedule, and financial management in an architectural or related professional services environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint for project accounting and management is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and their application to architectural projects.
- Experience with contract negotiation and contract administration for architectural projects.
- Experience supporting business development, proposals, and client presentations.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to effectively guide project teams and interact with clients and consultants.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
Work Environment
The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week. Employees collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to support teamwork, coordination, and mentoring. Fridays operate as a hybrid workday, allowing employees to work in the office, from home, or from another location of their choice. Core work hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing flexibility for employees to structure their start and end times around personal commitments while ensuring overlap for meetings and collaboration. The work environment emphasizes professional collaboration, use of digital design and project management tools, and a balance of focused individual work and coordinated team efforts.

This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Offers medical, dental, and vision insurance to employees and their families, along with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Depending on the employees choice of health insurance coverage, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA) are available, as well as a Dependent Care FSA for employees with eligible dependents. Employees are also covered by long-term disability insurance and group term life insurance. After meeting eligibility requirements, employees may enroll in the LMN 401(k) plan, which includes discretionary matching and profit-sharing contributions. Employees accrue a minimum of 3 weeks of paid time off (PTO) during their first year and observe 9 holidays, including 2 floating holidays.
