Position Summary

The Office of Global Security is seeking a highly professional, experienced, and detail-oriented  Executive Protection Advance Agent  to join our Executive Protection team. This armed position is responsible for delivering discreet, low-profile protective services to designated principals while conducting comprehensive advance work to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks in advance of principal movements.

The successful candidate will operate with sound judgment, exceptional situational awareness, and absolute discretion in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment. This role demands an individual capable of independently planning and executing advances in unfamiliar domestic and international environments, while integrating seamlessly into a larger protective detail and/or event security personnel. The agent will consistently represent the firm and its security program with professionalism, integrity, and cultural sensitivity when interfacing with senior executives, clients, government partners, law enforcement, vendors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

Advance Planning & Risk Assessment

- Conduct thorough physical advances of residences, offices, event venues, hotels, restaurants, airports, and other locations prior to principal arrival.
- Develop and document route analyses, including primary and alternate routes, choke points, safe havens, and en-route medical facilities.
- Identify and map emergency exits, evacuation routes, rally points, hospital locations, and local emergency services capability.
- Produce clear, concise written advance reports, security briefs, and trip books with supporting photographs, diagrams, and contact rosters.
- Assess venue access control, camera coverage, crowd dynamics, media presence, and third-party security posture; recommend and implement mitigation measures.
- Coordinate logistics with hotel security, venue management, event organizers, aviation and ground transportation providers, local law enforcement, and host-country contacts.
- Conduct open-source research and, in coordination with intelligence and threat management colleagues, incorporate current threat, geopolitical, health, and civil-unrest information into advance planning.

Protective Operations

- Provide armed close protection coverage for designated principals during business movements, both domestically and internationally.
- Execute secure ground transportation duties as required, including defensive and evasive driving, motorcade positioning, and arrival/departure procedures.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness; recognize, report, and respond to suspicious behavior, surveillance indicators, and emerging threats.
- Respond decisively to medical emergencies, fire, evacuation, or security incidents; render first aid, CPR/AED, and bleeding-control care until relieved by emergency medical services.
- Maintain a discreet, low-profile presence appropriate to the environment, minimizing disruption to the principal's schedule and privacy.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of executive schedules, travel plans, residences, family details, and all firm-sensitive information.

Coordination, Reporting & Program Support

- Serve as the on-site point of contact during advances, providing timely updates to the detail leader, Executive Protection Manager, and Americas Security Operations Center.
- Prepare after-action reports and lessons-learned documentation; recommend improvements to protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records including daily activity logs, incident reports, expense reports, and travel documentation.
- Ensure all assigned equipment — firearms, communications, medical kits, vehicles, and protective equipment — is maintained, inventoried, and mission-ready.
- Support special events, board meetings, shareholder meetings, off-sites, and crisis response activations as directed.
- Participate in ongoing training, requalification, and professional development; contribute to the training of team members and new hires.
- Comply with all firm policies, applicable laws, licensing conditions, and firearms regulations in every jurisdiction of operation.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of military, law enforcement, or corporate security experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of  5 years  of executive protection, dignitary protection, or close protection experience, including demonstrable  independent advance experience  in domestic and international environments.
- Successful completion of a recognized executive protection or protective operations training program.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted  armed security license and concealed-carry authorization  in New York State (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date), with the ability to obtain and maintain reciprocal or supplemental authorizations as required. Requirements vary by jurisdiction — for example, New York State armed guards must complete state-mandated firearms training and registration through the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (https://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/pio/security_guard.htm), and separate licensing is administered by the NYPD License Division (https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/services/law-enforcement/handgun-carry-permit.page) for firearms carried in New York City.
- Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid; tactical or emergency casualty care (TCCC/TECC/"Stop the Bleed") strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely under demanding conditions.
- Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally on short notice and obtain required visas.
- Proven ability to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding executives, families, and firm operations.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including luggage, equipment, and medical gear.
- Ability to safely and proficiently carry, handle, and, if necessary, deploy a firearm; must pass initial and recurring firearms qualification standards.
- Ability to respond physically in an emergency, including rapid evacuation, defensive action, and rendering aid.
- Work is performed in both office and field environments, including outdoors in adverse weather, in crowded venues, and during extended vehicle and air travel.
- Must be reachable and available outside standard business hours and on short notice to support executive requirements.
