In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.
The Advanced Mission Solutions product line of BAE Systems C4ISR Systems business area is seeking an experienced, strategic Mission Advocate that performs business development functions to shape and win new business in our existing and emerging markets. The position will drive growth through the development and execution of business strategies that span across the Advanced Mission Solutions portfolio and the creation, identification, and qualification of new business opportunities that deliver those strategies. This role reports to the Advanced Mission Solutions Product Line Business Development Director and requires independence, resourcefulness, and mission intimacy that fosters understanding of customer pain points, mission needs, market pathways, and future capabilities into our business while simultaneously delivering BAE Systems value into our customer’s mission.
The Mission Advocate is key in the development of new domestic and international business strategies, execution of multiple marketing approaches, and collaboration on product and technical roadmaps across both AMS and C4ISRS market spaces. It will also require frequent customer contacts and a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, competitive landscape, and AMS’ products, capabilities, and technologies. As such, the Mission Advocate must be capable of developing and maintaining internal, customer, and industry relationships in pursuit of new business. The selected candidate will shape and drive our growth & investment roadmaps and develop & execute plans to fill the orders pipeline with qualified opportunities that support the AMS PL strategic plan.
Responsibilities to include:
• Provide the voice of the customer to the business including customer pain points, mission needs, and needed future capabilities; influence requirements to ensure BAE discriminating elements are valued.
• Ability to establish and foster mutually beneficial relationships with and collaborate/partner with other BAE Systems businesses, industry partners and our customers both domestically and internationally
• Understand the Advanced Mission Solutions customer organizations and key decision makers and influencers to formulate customer engagement plans
• Strong understanding of financials, capture, and business acumen (Price-To-Win, business case analyses, market analyses, customer & competitor intelligence), problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations without supervision
• Establish and communicate strategic filters for business pursuits based upon strong business acumen
• Tailoring of business winning processes and leveraging business winning tools to ensure lean, effective business winning
- Navigate compliance with international industrial participation/offset regulations and relationship to winning programs
- Formulate and create Quarterly Business Reviews and Integrated Business Plans addressing key business development areas of responsibility – voice of the customer, customer priorities, product capabilities, and prioritized pursuits
This position may be based out of multiple BAE sites across the US. Specifically: Fort Worth, TX and San Diego, CA and requires approximately 50% travel, including International.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Military/DoD flight line, backshop, depot, and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience
- Must have existing F-16 domestic and international customer and industry relationships with the ability to execute detailed campaign plans to include customer identification and engagement activities.
- Knowledge and experience with US fighter aircraft and their associated test and support systems
- The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of US Government contracting, contract types and procurement processes and must be team-oriented and demonstrate strong reasoning and communications skills, both oral and written
- Strategic and critical thinking skills to generate customer value propositions that provide insightful understanding of customer intent and challenges beyond stated requiremen
- Success in leading cross-functional collaboration teams comprised of business development, engineering, and program management to create new business opportunities
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- SECRET eligible
- Experience with international business development, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and business capture
- Capture lead for large competitive opportunities valued at > $50M
- DOD DAWIA program management qualifications or equivalent
- F-35 experience and relationships would be viewed positively
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
