What You’ll Do

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities to all age groups. The practitioner provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes. This position acts as a liaison with other clinical departments. The individual provides clinical leadership throughout the system. The incumbent has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with other team members, directors and physicians. The Registered Respiratory Therapist works under the direct supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, with the exception to cardiopulmonary rehab services.
Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree : Associates Degree Major/Area of Concentration: Respiratory Therapy Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Licensed by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board and Registered by the (NBRC) National Board for Respiratory Care. BLS Certification ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support and NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days. Exception: Therapists hired into the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department are excluded from ACLS, PALS and NRP. Electrocardiogram (EKG) Course required within 30 days of hire, then annual competency for caregivers in the Cardiac Rehab Services Department. Preferred Experience: 2 years’ experience in critical care, emergency, and diagnostic. respiratory care procedures.
