Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Ratcliff is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent who takes pride in running a safe, organized, and successful jobsite.

What You'll Do

As a Superintendent, you'll lead the day-to-day field operations of your project from handoff through completion. You'll work closely with the Project Manager while coordinating subcontractors, schedules, safety, quality, materials, and jobsite activities to keep the project moving forward.

You'll be expected to:

- Lead daily field operations and take ownership of jobsite performance

- Plan ahead, anticipate upcoming needs, and identify potential issues before they impact the project

- Develop, maintain, and drive the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager

- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and field activities

- Read, interpret, and execute construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements

- Hold subcontractors accountable for schedule, quality, safety, and scope of work

- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional jobsite

- Monitor workmanship and ensure Ratcliff's quality standards are consistently met

- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, challenges, manpower, schedule, and upcoming needs

- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and participate in owner and project team meetings as needed

- Coordinate material takeoffs, procurement, and deliveries to support the project schedule

- Maintain accurate daily reports and required field documentation

- Build productive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and project partners

- Lead by example and represent Ratcliff professionally on the jobsite

- Have proven experience leading commercial construction projects in the field

- Understand construction sequencing and know how to effectively plan work ahead

- Can read and interpret plans, specifications, and project documents

- Know how to manage subcontractors and drive a project schedule

- Are comfortable holding others accountable while maintaining productive working relationships

- Communicate clearly and directly with field teams, Project Managers, owners, and project partners

- Take initiative and follow through on commitments

- Stay composed and solutions-focused when plans change or challenges arise

- Take pride in quality workmanship and an organized jobsite

- Understand that safety is a responsibility of everyone on the project

- Are willing and able to travel to project locations as required

Experience & Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects

- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and field operations

- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Experience with construction technology and project documentation systems preferred

- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
