About this role

Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

Ratcliff Constructors is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager who takes ownership, communicates well, and knows how to keep a project moving from planning through closeout.

Our Project Managers are responsible for more than schedules and paperwork. They're expected to understand the full picture of their projects—budget, schedule, contracts, field operations, client expectations, and the relationships that bring everything together.

We're looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and ready to take responsibility for delivering successful commercial construction projects.

Who is Ratcliff?

Ratcliff is more than a name in construction. We are a nearly century-strong company built on great relationships, quality work, and people who take pride in what they do. With operations across Louisiana and Texas, Ratcliff has built a longstanding reputation in commercial construction while continuing to grow, evolve, and invest in our people.

Our Core Values spell RATCLIFF and define how we work, how we treat people, and what we expect from one another:

Relationships. Attitude. Teamwork. Commitment. Leadership. Integrity. Family. Forward.

They aren't just words on a wall. They guide how we show up for our clients, our coworkers, our communities, and each other.

Through Great Relationships, We Build Great Things!

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction and planning through completion and closeout. You'll work closely with Superintendents, project teams, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to keep projects on track and deliver the results our clients expect.

You'll be expected to:

- Take ownership of project performance, including
budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction

- Manage projects from preconstruction and buyout through construction and closeout

- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost controls

- Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, pay applications, commitments, and project documentation

- Partner closely with the Superintendent to keep field and office operations aligned

- Manage subcontractor and vendor scopes, commitments, performance, and relationships

- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams

- Identify potential project risks early and take action before they impact cost, schedule, or client expectations

- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, change management, and project closeout

- Monitor project financials and make informed decisions that protect both the project and the company

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders

- Hold yourself and others accountable for commitments and follow-through

- Represent Ratcliff professionally throughout every phase of the project

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Project Manager who can take ownership of a project and keep all the moving pieces headed in the same direction.

The right person doesn't wait for problems to become emergencies. They communicate, plan ahead, follow through, and know when something needs their attention.

They also understand that successful project management isn't accomplished from behind a computer. Building strong relationships with the Superintendent, client, design team, and trade partners is an important part of getting the job done.

You may be a great fit if you:

- Have experience managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor

- Understand project financials and can manage budgets, forecasts, costs, and change

- Are organized and detail-oriented without losing sight of the overall project

- Communicate confidently with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and leadership

- Take initiative and follow through on commitments

- Anticipate challenges and approach problems with a solutions-focused mindset

- Are comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for the outcome

- Know how to hold others accountable while maintaining productive working relationships
