Serves as an advanced technical specialist in Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), designing, configuring, and improving testing capabilities for complex web applications and APIs across the software development lifecycle. Applies deep application security expertise to execute and validate assessments, solve difficult testing conditions, and develop reusable technical solutions that improve scan accuracy, coverage, reliability, and scalability. Works independently with limited supervision and serves as a technical authority for DAST standards, assessment patterns, and tooling within the Security Engineering department or job area.

For this opportunity, Truist will not sponsor an applicant for work visa status or employment authorization, nor will we offer any immigration-related support for this position (including, but not limited to H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN-1 or TN-2, E-3, O-1, or future sponsorship for U.S. lawful permanent residence status.)

- Performs and validates complex authenticated assessments, including login success, session state, crawl coverage, attack surface coverage, vulnerability results and overall assessment validity.
- Engineers DAST scan policies, authentication workflows, login sequences, session handling, API definitions, custom scripts, integrations, and automation for reliable and repeatable testing.
- Investigates difficult and undefined assessment problems, including multifactor authentication constraints, incomplete crawling, blocked requests, dynamic application behavior, tool limitations, false positives, false negatives, and inconsistent results.
- Uses browser, proxy, HTTP, API, logging, and diagnostic techniques to identify root causes and develop practical, reusable technical solutions.
- Analyzes and documents DAST evidence to distinguish validated vulnerabilities, suspected false positives, coverage limitations, and inconclusive results, and supports remediation verification.
- Partners with application and engineering teams to understand runtime behavior, resolve testability constraints, and establish technically appropriate DAST configurations without assuming ownership of application readiness.
